I’ve watched videos of people being fed through tubes, and studied the gag reflexes and movements as a tube is shoved down their throats. I also studied the sounds it produces“explained Bryan Cranston. “It’s very hard to watch. It is sometimes a necessary act for medical reasons, and in this precise case, it is legal. The penal system can feed detainees by force, especially in the case of suicidal people. They don’t want to have their death on their hands… I found that really terrible. It’s a scene that was difficult to shoot, and which is difficult to watch”, adds the actor who “kept an indelible memory of these people, the sounds they made, and the level of discomfort they were in.” “I tried to reproduce all that, that’s what our job consists of, observing behaviors and reproducing them.” he concluded.
