In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom there is a small but subtle reference to Breath of the Wild. Because it’s easy to miss, we’ll show you how and where to spot it.

An Easter Egg for a very specific group of players

Anyone who has played and completed the “Champions Ballad” expansion in Zelda: Breath of the Wild can find the little surprise in Tears of the Kingdom. Since the Easter Egg is related to the content of the DLC, story spoilers for the expansion as well as for Tears of the Kingdom can appear in the following text. You have been warned.

Especially the end of the DLC is of great importance for the allusion in the sequel. Shown here is a scene of the eponymous champions taking a picture together, which Link later posted at his home in Hateno. A nice reminder of the adventures of the expansion.

If you have completed the DLC and were able to examine the photo in your house, you should also inspect your house in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Here, too, the Champions photo hangs on the wall. Of course, you’ll need to make it to Hateno and find Link’s house in the sequel as well.

How VG247 writes, you can’t seem to see the photo if you don’t have a save file with the extension completed. Here the team paid great attention to the small details, which is a nice touch for all those who played not only BotW but also the expansion.

Generally there is one or the other element that is taken over from your BotW save file. For example, you can also import your loyal horses.
