Zelensky visits Ukrainian troops in Zaporizhia to support the counteroffensive

Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelenskytried to support the counteroffensive efforts of the Ukrainian troops with a visit to the units stationed on the front of Zaporizhia.

Specifically, Zelensky visited on Tuesday in the Zaporizhia region units of the Ukrainian armed forces involved in the counteroffensive in the Melitopol frontthe presidential office reported today.

Zelensky listened to the reports of the commanders of these units on the development of hostilities and discussed with them and with the fighters the most problematic aspects of the challenges they face.

In particular, the representatives of the armed forces underlined the need to receive more radio electronic devices and anti-aircraft defense systems for the front that help them counter attacks from enemy fighters and drones.

Zelensky requested that the army’s requests be registered in a systematic way so that they can be studied later by the team of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and transmitted to the foreign allies of Ukraine.

Yesterday, the president visited the command posts of various brigades that stood out on the front of the Donetsk region.

“There is always a general image, there are reports on each area, on each brigade. But it is important to speak directly with the fighters about the war experience of those on the ground,” Zelensky later wrote on his Telegram channel.

Hours before the president’s visit to the troops, Russia launched 28 cruise missiles against different regions of Ukraine16 of the missiles could be intercepted by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses.

Despite this, the missiles caused the death of three civilians and significant damage to infrastructure. According to the Ukrainian government, damage has been reported in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro and Donetsk.
