Latin Grammy celebrates its twenty-fifth edition in Miami

MIAMI.- After a successful day in Seville, Spain, the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced that the celebration of the twenty-fifth edition of the Latin Grammy will be in Miami. The ceremony that brings together Latin musical talent will take place at the Kaseya Center on November 14.

“Since our first award in 2000, the Latin GRAMMYs have put the music Latin America in the international spotlight in an unsurpassed way and offered emblematic performances that have become part of the history of music and popular culture. It is a privilege for us to celebrate our 25th anniversary in Miami,” said Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, during a press conference from the City of the Sun.

“Miami has evolved to become the epicenter of Latin entertainment, and we are very grateful for the support and enthusiasm we have received,” he said.

This will be the third time that exponents of Hispanic music will gather in Miami. Previously, the gala had been held in this Florida city in 2003 and in 2020, when the show was held without an audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will be possible thanks to the joint work of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Miami-Dade County and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB).

For her part, Daniella Levine Cava, mayor of Miami-Dade Countywas excited and grateful because the award will take place in the city.

“Miami really is the perfect place for the Latin Grammys. We have the people, the beaches, the weather, the food, the hotels, the stage and the music. We have it all and we are ready. The Latin Grammys are coming home. Together we go to make this the best night of the Latin Grammy Awards,” he commented.

For his part, Anthony Rodríguez, commissioner of Miami-Dade County, emphasized that the city will be the perfect setting for the celebration.

“Miami is the perfect setting to honor the talents of Latin music. The flavor and rhythm can only be found here in Miami. The Latin Grammys are coming to our house. Miami has a great history of Latin music and is a place where So many artists have found inspiration and success. As the Latin Grammys take place in Miami, the event will bring together musicians and fans from around the world. For his part, Gary Nader expressed his gratitude and feeling because the effort to bring the Latin Grammys to the City of the Sun has borne valuable fruits.

My idea of ​​​​seeing Miami again host the Latin Grammy not only resonated with my love for music, but it was also perfectly aligned with our commitment to supporting and promoting Latin culture through art,” he began.

“My vision of bringing the Latin Grammy to Miami could never have come true without the support and collaboration of many incredible people. 25 years

In this sense, Abud highlighted that the Academy’s work in this quarter of a century has been to support talent and generate bridges between generations, musical genres, geographies and genre influences. He emphasized that as part of the 25th anniversary celebration, this edition will have special moments that will review the history of the award.

“This year is a year of celebration. We are going to review history, we are going to see the contributions reliving iconic moments. It will be a very different show,” he explained.

Regarding the agreement with Andalusia that allowed the awards to be held in Seville in 2023, the CEO pointed out that it remains in force since it is a three-year alliance. “It has been three years according to the Andalusian government. The links with Spain have been very good. The most important thing is that when we go to a place, the city turns towards art.”

Likewise, he expressed his happiness for the impact that Latin music has had in recent years.

Like every year, Latin Grammy week will feature various events that recognize musical talent: the reception of the nominated artists, the Leading Ladies of Entertainment panel, the Best New Artist Showcase, Person of the Year, and the premiere of the 25th edition of the Latin Grammys.

The first round of voting for the peer-selected awards will be open between July 24 and August 5, and nominations will be announced on September 17.

The final round of voting will begin on September 27 and close on October 10.

Like every year, the ceremony will be broadcast on Univision starting at 8 pm (Eastern Time), and will be preceded by a red carpet prelude.
