Liverpool suffers a hard blow in the Premier League after losing against Everton

LIVERPOOL.- Everything seems to indicate that Jurgen Klopp will not have a grand goodbye with Liverpool.

Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat at home rival Everton dealt a serious blow to the Reds’ hopes of being crowned Premier League champions.

Goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin left Klopp with a bitter taste in his final Merseyside derby before his exit at the end of the season.

Liverpool light compromise:

Liverpool is in second place in the English league, three points behind the leader Arsenal. They lead by one point the reigning champion Manchester City, placed third, and who have two games less than their rivals.

Klopp had recently indicated that they need to be perfect to win his second Premier title with the club. But the team is in the doldrums, with two defeats in its last three games.

While Liverpool is deflating in the Premier, Everton seems to leave behind the risk of relegation. Sean Dyche’s team was eight points above the fatal zone.

Copa Italia:

Atalanta reached the final of the Italian Cup by dispatching a 10-man Fiorentina 4-1 on Wednesday and met Juventus in the duel for the trophy.

Ademola Lookman’s decisive goal in stoppage time was disallowed in the first instance due to an offside position. But the goal ended up being declared valid after the intervention of the VAR.

Teun Koopmeiners, Gianluca Scamacca and Mario Pasalic also scored for Atalanta. Argentine Lucas Martínez Quarta scored the goal for a temporary tie for Fiorentina, which played outnumbered from the beginning of the second half due to the expulsion of Nikola Milenkovic for a foul on Scamacca.

Atalanta qualified by winning 4-2 on aggregate, after Fiorentina won 1-0 in the first leg.

Juventus eliminated Lazio on Tuesday.

The final will be played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on May 15.

Atalanta will also face Olympique Marseille in the Europa League semi-finals. His coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who served a suspension on Wednesday, is seeking the first trophy of his career. Atalanta eliminated Liverpool in the quarterfinals.

Atalanta’s only consecration in a top-level competition dates back to the Italian Cup in 1963.

Fiorentina, for its part, will face the Belgian club Brugge in the semifinals of the Europa Conference League.
