Mother of a Cuban murdered by her ex-partner in Florida City needs a humanitarian visa to say goodbye to her daughter

The mother of a Cuban woman who was shot to death by her ex-partner in Florida City, Miami-Dade, needs a humanitarian visa to be able to say goodbye to her daughter.

Odelsa Marquezmother of Yessenia Rodríguez Márquez, is located in Ecuador; From there she asks for the help of a politician or immigration lawyer to obtain a visa that allows her to travel to the United States to say a final goodbye to her daughter.

“I cannot close that chapter, although as a mother one never closes the chapter, but at least, with a farewell that I hug her, that I talk to her even though she is dead; I have not been able to have that, and it is one thing that is needed,” he told Telemundo 51.

Yessenia, 44 years old, She had only been in the country for nine months when she was shot to death on April 22. inside a car by her ex, Alexander Roque, 48 years old. After committing the crime, the man drove to the police with the body in the passenger seat.

“I want to understand it and I can’t… not because I am the mother, but because no one who understands what it means to feel love for one’s neighbor is capable of doing such a barbaric thing,” questioned Odelsa.

The victim’s body has not been handed over by the Police to the family because the investigation is in its initial phase.

Yessenia and her 12-year-old daughter arrived in the United States thanks to a humanitarian parole presented by the child’s father. They all lived together until she met Roque.

That new relationship lasted just three months. As Odelsa revealed, her daughter decided to leave the now accused’s house because he began to show a violent attitude.

“We need a niche for her, because her daughter wanted her to stay there. If not, I would go, collect the ashes and bring them, but the girl wants her mother to stay there with her,” he requested.

According to the arrest report, before being detained, the murderer sent photos of Yessenia’s body to her mother and her ex-husband.

“What a horrible thing as a human being… if you can call it a human being,” said the lady.
