Visit of Cuban officials to control areas of Miami International Airport provokes indignation in the TSA

MIAMI.- The visit of representatives of the Havana regime to the TSA control facilities at Miami International Airport provoked the anger of some US officials, who questioned granting Cuba access to sensitive information, a practice reserved for representatives of allied countries.

According to information reached our editorial office, a delegation of officials from Havana visited the TSA facilities in MIA as part of the exchange of knowledge between the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and its Cuban counterparts.

The tour of the sensitive areas, where the computerized control technology is located, of the airport would have caused an incident with US officials who showed their discontent upon understanding that it could compromise national security. Usually, this type of visit is reserved for officials from allied countries.

TSA’s mission is to protect the nation’s transportation systems to ensure the freedom of movement of people and commerce.

In this context, last week, a State Department official announced that President Joe Biden’s Administration removed the Havana regime from the list of countries that do not fully cooperate in the fight against terrorism.

Cuban-American congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar declared in this regard that “this is a new sign that the Biden Administration is paving the way to remove Cuba from the list of Countries Sponsoring Terrorism.”
