Fiat Strada remains in the lead among pickup trucks and was the best-selling model in Brazil in March 2023. According to a ranking released by Fenabrave (National Federation of Automotive Vehicle Distribution), the Italian automaker’s compact pickup truck registered 9,935 units registered in the period, being, by far, the best-selling car in the country among all categories.

Leader for two years in a row, Strada is very successful with fleets of companies and rental companies, but has, since 2020, options aimed at touring, such as the Volcano and Ranch variants, equipped with the good 1.3 Firefly engine, which yields 107hp and 13, 7 kgf/m of torque. The bucket capacity in these versions is 844 liters, with a maximum load of 600kg, but the work versions can carry more, with 1,354l and 720kg, respectively.

For this year, a small update is scheduled in the pickup line, with the introduction of the 1.0 turbo engine with 130hp and 20.4 kgf/m of torque, the same one that equips some versions of the Fiat Pulse and Fiat Fastback. In addition to the engine, a design adjustment must also be made, to make it more in line with the aforementioned SUVs.

The second place in the ranking of best-selling pickup trucks in Brazil in March was also Italian Fiat Toro, which recorded 5,607 registrations, more than 1,000 compared to Toyota Hilux, which sold 4,362 units. The recently launched Chevrolet Montana, which completed its second full month of sales, did very well and sold 3,988 trucks.
