10.- Mario ‘Raccoon’

In ‘Super Mario Bros. The Movie’ we see how Mario wears the famous Tanooki suit (which is all raccoon-like clothing) and saves the Mushroom Kingdom by hitting a Bullet Bill with his tail. Something that we would see well in a Super Mario game.

9.- El Donkey Kong rap

Some hated it when it came out on the Nintendo 64, but fans of ‘Super Mario Bros. The Movie’ lost their minds when they heard the same song (which by the way was born as a joke years ago) when Donkey Kong appeared on the screen.

8.- Baby Mario and Baby Luigi in ‘Super Mario Bros. The Movie’

We’ve seen them from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, to Mario Kart in the Wii version. But in ‘Super Mario Bros. The Movie’ we could see Baby Mario and Baby Luigi thanks to the flashbacks of the brothers. And not only that, but also the baby version of Peach.

7.- The Jumpman that existed before Mario

At the pizzeria ‘Punch-Out!’ there is an arcade machine called ‘Jumpman’, which is a reference to the first game that existed before Mario Bros. (or at least with that man) where a man must climb ladders and dodge barrels to save Paulie from Donkey Kong.

6.- Pauline even appears in ‘Super Mario Bros. The Movie’

Speaking of Pauline, who is the first damsel Mario rescues, she appears in the ‘Super Mario Bros.’ movie. as the mayor of New Donk City, the most important city in the Urban Kingdom that we met in Super Mario Odyssey.

5.- The Nintendo Gamecube song

A reference that the connoisseurs immediately identified was that of Luigi’s cell phone tone, which is nothing more than the intro of the Gamecube. The nostalgia to a thousand!

4.- World 1-2 of Super Mario Bros.

Who does not remember that second blue world that Mario descends into in the NES game? Well, in the movie we see that Mario and Luigi go down to that level when they check the Brooklyn pipes. and we see the sign that says “Level 1-2”. With everything and the music of “tururururu tururururu”.

3.- Princess Peach’s Castle in Super Mario 64

In one scene we see Princess Peach inside her castle and there we see the glass mural that appears in Super Mario 64in the front of said place, where Princess Peach appears on her side and with her hands on her chest.

2.- Nintendo’s multiverse in ‘Super Mario Bros. The Movie’

The multiverse is present in this film and it does so through the NES console, one of Nintendo’s most famous devices and which we can see in Mario’s bedroom.

1.- The reference to Mario Kart 8

Perhaps one of the biggest references that we come across in ‘Super Mario Bros’ The Movie’ is when Peach, Toad and Mario pimp their karts as we can do in Mario Kart 8. The reference of references!
