Since February, paid Twitter users could post messages of 4,000 characters, the limit is now 10,000. They also have the option of adding bold or italics.

Can we still speak of a limit? As soon as he arrived at the head of Twitter, Elon Musk wanted to end the constraint of 280-character publications. At the beginning of February, paying users were granted the right to share messages of 4000 characters. But it was still not enough for the new boss of the platform.

Not visible at first glance

This Friday, the social network indicated that Twitter Blue accounts now have the possibility of publishing texts of 10,000 characters, notes the specialized site Engadget. Also, these messages can be formatted with the possibility of adding bold or italics.

According to the Twitter Write account, which made the announcement official, this novelty should serve to improve the writing experience, but also the reading experience on the platform. Only problem, the tweets of more than 280 characters are not displayed in full. You have to click on the mention “see more” to obtain the whole publication.

As Engadet points out, a publication of 10,000 characters gives the possibility of writing about 2,000 words. If this seems excessive for most users, the company may have raised this limit to help monetize activity on Twitter.
