Among the most played games on the platform, we find almost obvious names: Grand Theft Auto V, Apex Legends, PUBG… However, we should not forget to mention Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ! The license that was once a mod of the famous Half-Life video game is experiencing unprecedented popularity thanks to this opus released more than ten years ago, in August 2012. Even crazier, it ridicules the other games on the platform by displaying increasingly mind-blowing attendance scores. In April 2020, the game had set a new record by simultaneously bringing together 1,308,963 players: a feat once again postponed!
At present, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the title that brings together the most players on Steam, and the competition simply cannot compete. The closest title is DOTA 2 with 570,724 simultaneous players, barely more than half of CS:GO ! To see such a success is crazy enough, but what is even more so is to think that the attendance figures of the pandemic were exceeded two days ago. Thus, more popular than ever, CS:GO recorded a peak of simultaneous players which now peaks at more than 1,320,000 players. ! Ten years later, CS:GO always breaking records: no doubt about it, it is indeed an eternal phenomenon!
