The schedule is packed for 13-year-old Hillevi Salomonsson from Västervik, who was born with one and a half legs. She practices badminton and tennis between five and seven times a week and has competitions almost every weekend. When she has time to spare, she also plays wheelchair floorball. Now she is nominated for Role Model of the Year at the Swedish Parasport Gala.
– I hope that I can get more people to find the sport and get the same joy that I get from it.
Competing against much older stars
Ebba Årsjö, alpine, and Fia Fjelddahl, sailing, are the other nominees in the same category. Both stars in para-sport with Paralympic Games to their credit.
– It feels really cool to be nominated with them, and that I’m so young and have already managed to be involved in so much, says Hillevi Salomonsson.
