It is rather rare for leakers to collect their own rumours. However, according to a media report, display expert Ross Young has now come to the conclusion that Apple has scrapped its plans for an even larger iPad Pro. In June 2022 he had circulated this via Twitter.

Young, who says he has good contacts with manufacturers of display technology, predicted an iPad Pro with a 14.1-inch display that could appear in early 2023. The screen should be based on mini-LED technology and support ProMotion, i.e. have a refresh rate of 120 Hertz.

Young now told MacRumors that Apple is no longer planning such a large iPad Pro. He said nothing more about it – he is also silent on the matter on Twitter.

Currently, Apple’s largest iPad Pro with M2 chip has a 12.9-inch screen. An even larger iPad didn’t seem out of the question, as voices of users who want something like this can be heard again and again on the Internet. In addition, with the new Stage Manager multitasking control, Apple itself would need a larger screen, since the function makes extensive use of the limited space available. Only this week there were new rumors about the next iPad Mini.

On the other hand, Apple’s screen sizes from the MacBooks and the iPads have so far been coordinated in such a way that from 13 inches there is a smooth transfer from the iPad to the Mac. All iPads have a smaller screen than the smallest MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.
