According to preliminary readings from the German Weather Service (DWD), it was warmer than ever in Berlin on New Year’s Eve. At the measuring points in the districts of Marzahn, Tempelhof and Buch, temperatures between 17.5 and 17.9 degrees Celsius were measured on Saturday, as the DWD announced in the evening.

How from the Daily courses at “Kachelmannwetter” shows that the maximum value was measured at 2:30 p.m. and again at 2:50 p.m. at the station in Tempelhof – with 17.9 degrees Celsius.

The previous historical maximum temperatures for New Year’s Eve were reached in all three places last year and were just over 14 degrees.

For New Year’s Eve, the DWD still expected double-digit lows. At the beginning of the new year, the temperatures in the capital region should not fall below 13 to 10 degrees, it was said in the evening.

In addition, the meteorologists expected strong winds: until Sunday, New Year’s Day, gusts of wind of up to 60 kilometers per hour (strength 7) from the south-west were possible at times, and isolated gusts of wind around 65 kilometers per hour (strength 8).
