In the days before the Titan submersible went to sea off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, the 19-year-old student accompanying his father on the expedition expressed hesitation about going, his aunt said Thursday during an interview.
Azmeh Dawood – the older sister of Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood – told NBC News that her nephew, Suleman, told a relative that he was “not very enthusiastic” and “terrified” about the trip to explore the remains of the Titanic.
But the 19-year-old ended up joining the submersible trip because the expedition fell right on Father’s Day and he really wanted to please his dad, who was a fan of the Titanic, according to Azmeh.
