Following this announcement, the Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zeghdar in turn announced the signing of an agreement with the Italian brand Fiat, for the opening of a car assembly plant in Oran. Since then, the announcements have multiplied and Algerian consumers are growing impatient.
The wali of Oran, Saïd Sayoud, revealed today the rate of progress of the completion of the Italian car factory “Fiat” in the industrial zone of Tafraoui in Oran.
Saïd Sayoud, specified that the works of completion of the Fiat factory in the industrial zone of Tafraoui in Oran are very advanced.
In addition, he indicated that the company in charge of the project has completed the completion of the first industrial unit, while exceeding 45% of the progress of the work in the second unit.

What about the state of progress of the work of this project on the Algerian side?
In addition, with regard to the work incumbent on the Algerian component of this project, Sayoud confirmed that the work is progressing at a very advanced pace. Also specifying that the electrical connection work was carried out by the company Sonelgaz.
As for the connection of the plant to gas and drinking water, the Said Sayoud declared: “We are waiting for the company to ask us to deliver the gas, and the study is almost finished. While drinking water supply works will begin to connect it to the Tafraoui reservoir in the coming days, with a financial value of up to 12 billion centimes, or 120 million dinars. »
The wali of Oran concluded, saying that everything is going well with regard to the work to complete the Fiat plant, and said: “We will be ready, at most, in the next few days to install and produce the first Fiat car in Algeria. »
