Yes, we know that the mangaka had nothing to do with the development of the series, but they are still his stories. Also, in the recent events of Dragon Ball Super, several GT characters are becoming canon.
So, it means that the adventures developed by the Toei Animation team from the 1990s are being taken into account. But let’s go back to what summons us; The idea is not to start a discussion, but to remember the best thing this wing of Dragon Ball had.

All of those mentioned have their specific place among the highlights. But none come close to what the series finale meant. Being honest, those who devised this piece developed a work of art with all the elements of Dragon Ball from the beginning to the end.
We put them in context, if they don’t remember the scene. In the Martial Arts Tournament, two direct descendants of Goku and Vegeta face each other. Both become Super Saiyans and star in a brutal battle.
Pan in his old version enjoys the fight in the public and Goku, who at that time had already gone to the afterlife with Shenlong for having used the dragon balls a lot, returns apparently thanks to a favor from Uranai Baba.
Videl’s daughter feels his presence, but can’t find him. Later, Goku walks through the grounds of the tournament facilities and begins to make a summary that goes from when the hero is found by his grandfather Gohan and a review is made of all the adventures he lived in his life.
The series may have its flaws, but Goku’s closure is, in my opinion, perfect. Dragon Ball Super has a very difficult job to match or better this, when it’s time to say goodbye.
