Despite a catastrophic launch, Redfall at least had the merit of making the rumble of players heard up to the highest echelons of Xbox.

More transparent communication in the future

A few days ago, the green brand marketed the latest big production from the Arkane Austin studio on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, not everything went as planned and many flaws were pointed out by the press and the players. We can notably cite the many technical hiccups, the fairly tasteless gameplay, the story that is far too classic to be attractive or the totally disastrous AI of the humans and vampires you face.

That being said, the first details that made fans react date back to several weeks before the release. Indeed, we then learned that the software would not be playable in 60 FPS on Xbox Series X | S, a black point when you know that the title is exclusive to the new generation of Microsoft machines. In addition, the various trailers and gameplay demos we were treated to for Redfall were all offered in 60 FPS…

In order to reassure players and respond to this controversy, Phil Spencer, the boss of Xbox, recently spoke with journalists in the Kinda Funny Xcast. The man thus specifies that the gameplay sequences presented were running on PC, while admitting that the publisher’s communication will have to be much more transparent in the future at this level:

We need to be more honest about what we show players. It also needs to represent the reality of the experience our console players will have, so we need to be better at it. I don’t blame anyone but me.

As a reminder, Redfall has been available since May 2 on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
