Neza police officers who shot at the AICM are placed in pretrial detention

MEXICO CITY (appro).- A control judge ordered the precautionary measure of preventive detention against the Mexican police officers Sergio “N” and Leonardo “N” for their alleged participation in the crime of attempted homicide during the shooting that occurred on the 9th August at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).

In an information card, the capital’s Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) detailed that, as a result of an alleged persecution that began in the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl, a man and a woman were injured by firearm shots.

After the shooting reported in Terminal 2 of the AICM, elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) detained and made the Mexican uniformed officers available to the Public Ministry.

In a subsequent statement, the agency indicated that, during the control hearing and after the judge qualified the detention as “legal”, the agent of the Public Ministry of the General Coordination of Territorial Investigation formulated the corresponding accusation and requested the link to process.

For its part, the defense of the accused requested the duplicity of the constitutional term, for which the judicial authority established the precautionary measure of preventive detention while the new hearing is taking place.

During that time, the Mexican police officers will remain in the North Male Preventive Prison.

Shooting at the Airport

Last Wednesday there was a chase that culminated in a shootout in the AICM Terminal 2 parking lot, between two municipal police officers from Nezahualcóyotl, State of Mexico, and a vehicle with three passengers, the balance of the incident was two injured and two arrested.

According to El Universal, the persecution began after the Mexican police received a citizen complaint that the passengers of a car were allegedly armed.

After locating the vehicle, the uniformed officers stopped the passengers for a search, however, they “tried to flee.”

The race ended in the vicinity of the AICM, where the uniformed men “faced each other with firearms,” ​​according to a statement released by the capital’s airport on its Twitter account.
