The results of these benchmarks give us insight into the performance we can expect from specific components such as GPU and CPU. However, we are witnessing a significant change in this dynamic. Previously, these evaluations were restricted by platform, but now, thanks to 3DMarkwe can compare the graphics processing power between a smartphone and a desktop computer using their new Solar Bay test.
3DMark has different benchmarks, all of them designed to test a PC, whatever its level. Solar Bay wants to be a multiplatform reference pointbringing ray tracing testing to Windows PCs and high-end Android devices.
RTX 4090 against a high-end smartphone
In a sample of this new benchmark we can see that the powerful desktop GPU, GeForce RTX 4070 ti that we tested in the HD Tecnologia lab is 15 times higher than the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the GeForce RTX 4090, managed to score 24 times higher than the S23 Ultra, equipped with the Adreno 740 GPU, the current top-of-the-line graphics chip for mobile phones.

It is worth mentioning that when we want to know the performance of a GPU in 3DMark tests, we look at the graphics score, a category that does not exist in the mobile version of 3DMark Solar Bay, which only offers the overall score.
