Loved by many and hated by some, live-action Disney films have gained traction in recent years. Among the most famous are Lion King, Mulan e The Lady and the Trampa long story whose story brings tears to even the hardest of hearts.

In 2021, the live-action of Cruella gained prominence by showing Emma Stone in the lead role and updating the text, bringing more modern elements to the plot. Beyond, Dumbo also pleased by creating an almost real elephant, made by computer graphics.

The fact is that transforming an animation loved by the public into a film made with real actors is a great challenge that Disney, in most cases, has taken to heart. The quality of the films draws attention not only to the costumes and sets, but also to the graphic animations, which awakens the public’s desire to see more feature films of this type.

Thinking about it, the Canaltech listed five other Disney classics that deserve a live-action remake.

5. The Incredibles

Launched in 2004, The Incredibles conquered audiences with a story full of action and adventure. The plot shows a family that has superpowers and together they try to fight evil.

Putting good pinches of comedy, director and screenwriter Brad Bird knew how to make a captivating film that would delight not only children, but also adults. Such success made the film win a sequel in 2018.

With such fun characters it’s easy to imagine a live-action plot, isn’t it? While it is not confirmed, you can watch the animation on Disney+.

4. Up: High Adventures

One of Disney’s most beloved films is certainly Up: High Adventures. Released in 2009, it tells the story of Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old man who has lived in the same house his whole life, but is about to lose it to a builder.

Grumpy, he is committed to an asylum after hitting a man with his cane. When he manages to leave, he decides to tie hundreds of balloons to his house in order to levitate it and take it to a forest in South America.

At first the plan works, but he soon discovers that Russell, an eight-year-old boy and his worst nightmare, has embarked on this adventure.

Beloved by the public, Up: High Adventures has a great chance of being a good live-action. Disney has not yet confirmed whether it intends to do so, but if it happens, it will need to invest in the scenery and good actors to live the characters.

In the meantime, you can watch the movie on Disney+.

3. Lilo & Stitch

With four films and one series produced to date, Lilo & Stitch is one of Disney’s most famous animations and won over audiences with ease. Success of the 1990s, the film shows the friendship between a naughty girl (Lilo) and her alien friend (Stitch).

Transforming animation into a real movie would not be a very difficult task, since Disney has already managed to reproduce Mowgli: The Wolf Boy with computer graphics, in addition to the beautiful landscapes of Hawaii will be the perfect setting for the feature.

The good news is that Mickey’s company has already confirmed that Lilo & Stitch will win a live-action with a debut scheduled for 2024, and has even cast actor Kahiau Machado to live David Kawena — the romantic couple of Lilo’s sister.

It remains to be seen now whether the film will actually be released and whether it will win over viewers as well as the beloved animation. While waiting, the public can watch all productions on Disney+.

2. Frozen

Launched in 2014, Frozen quickly became one of Disney’s biggest hits, enthralling fans of all ages who couldn’t stop singing the famous theme song. Let It GoSuch success resulted in several sequels and spin offsand the hope that a live-action one will come out soon.

Disney, however, has not yet confirmed that this can happen, but the expectation is that Frozen 3 be done with real actors, although actresses Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel — who voice, respectively, Anna and Elsa — are excited about an upcoming animation.

Fans, however, have already imagined several actresses who could live the two sisters in live-action. Among the names quoted are Saoirse Ronan, Elizabeth Gillies and even Zendaya.

Anyone who wants to see the feature films again to kill the longing for the sisters and the charismatic Olaf (brilliantly voiced by Fábio Porchat, in Brazil) can now press play on Disney+.

1. Winnie the Pooh

Disney’s most famous, beautiful and charismatic bear also deserves a live-action. Although most of the characters are animals — Bizonho (donkey), Abel (rabbit), Leitão (pig) and Tigrão (tiger) — there is still a good chance that a movie played by real actors would be good, and we cannot deny that it would be fun to see the boy Christopher come to life.

The good news is that, according to the US press, there is a project for the story of the famous teddy bear and his gang to win a live-action film and a series in the coming years.

It is also worth remembering that the copyright that Disney had on the work written by AA Mile expired in 2021, which meant that other filmmakers, writers and directors could make new versions of the story of Winnie the Pooh.

Who took advantage of this chance was Rhys Frake-Waterfiel, who launched, in 2022, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honeya macabre live-action in which Pooh and Piglet kill their victims with exquisite cruelty.

If you want a lighter live-action option, however, you’ll still have to wait a while. But if you want to miss the teddy bear and his friends, you can now marathon all productions on Disney +.
