A Samsung will end software support for six more Galaxy devices this month. The list covers three smartphones and three tablets, all made official in 2019, completing the planned four-year cycle on the market. Despite being sad, this decision was already expected, just as it happened with the line Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy A50. Below, we will show you which models will stop being updated soon.

Galaxy A10

O Galaxy A10 was one of the simplest and most affordable devices in the Samsungtargeting those consumers who couldn’t (or didn’t want to) spend a lot on buying a new model.

The IPS LCD screen measures 6.2 inches with HD+ resolution (1520 x 720 pixels). Inside, the manufacturer inserted an Exynos 7884 processor, combined with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.

There is only one camera on the back, adding up to 13 megapixels with panorama capabilities, HDR and support for video recording in up to Full HD. The front sensor, positioned in the drop-shaped notch, delivers 5 megapixels.

To keep the device connected, the South Korean giant implemented a 3,400 mAh battery without fast charging technology. Other features include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0 and 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Galaxy A20

O Galaxy A20 also entered the list of models with ended support. It brought important improvements over its predecessor, including dual cameras and a larger battery capacity.

The Super AMOLED screen measures 6.4 inches with HD+ resolution (1560 x 720 pixels) and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Samsung kept the Exynos 7884 and 32 GB of storage from the previous generation, but increased the RAM to 3 GB.

The dual camera setup consists of a 13-megapixel main sensor and a 5-megapixel wide-angle secondary sensor. The camera dedicated to selfies, positioned in the drop-shaped notch, delivers 8 megapixels.

The battery has jumped to 4,000 mAh with 15-watt fast charging support. The device also hit the market with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5 mm headphone jack and digital reader on the back.

Galaxy A40

O Galaxy A40 it is the last of the three smartphones that will lose support. At the time of launch, this model was considered an interesting mid-ranger, with up to 128 GB of internal space, dual cameras and a compact display.

The Super AMOLED screen measures 5.9 inches with Full HD + resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels) and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside, we have an Exynos 7904 processor, combined with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage.

O Galaxy Tab A 8.0 it is the simplest tablet on this list. This model was the bet of Samsung in 2019 to serve less demanding consumers, offering a device with a large battery, chipset from Qualcomm and dual speakers.

The TFT LCD screen measures 8.0 inches with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). The embedded processor is the Snapdragon 429, combined with 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of storage, expandable via microSD.

In the camera department, there’s only an 8-megapixel sensor on the back with support for recording up to Full HD. The camera dedicated to selfies and video calls, positioned at the top edge of the screen, delivers 2 megapixels.

The battery offers an interesting capacity of 5,100 mAh, but without fast charging technology. The tablet even hit the market with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and microUSB port.

O Galaxy Tab A 10.1which will also end support this month, brings interesting improvements over the 8-inch version, including a bigger battery and more storage options.

The TFT LCD screen measures 10.1 inches with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). inside, the Samsung inserted an Exynos 7904 processor, combined with 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB of storage.

At the rear, there is only an 8-megapixel camera with AF focus, panorama and video recording support in up to Full HD. The front sensor, positioned on the upper edge of the display, offers 5 megapixels.

Closing the list, we have the Galaxy Tab S5ea tablet with competent hardware for the category and that, curiously, can still be found in some Brazilian stores.

The Super AMOLED screen measures 10.5 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The processor chosen by Samsung it was the Snapdragon 670, combined with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, expandable via microSD.

Like the other models, this device features a single 13-megapixel camera with HDR, panorama and support for recording up to Full HD. The front sensor, on the other hand, delivers a higher resolution of 8 megapixels.

The battery is the highlight, adding up to 7,040 mAh with support for fast charging of 18 watts. O Tab S5e it also offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, fingerprint reader on the side, USB-C port and four speakers synthesized by AKG.

End of Support: Now What?

A Samsung will end support, but that doesn’t mean these devices will stop working. In fact, the only difference is that they will not receive new updates very often, including Android versions and security packages.

On the other hand, the South Korean giant will still maintain the schedule of releasing security patches every six months to prevent attacks on the system, ensuring that user data remains safe.
