6. The Lying Life of Adults

Don’t be fooled by the title. The Lying Life of Adults it is not one of those teen series with an almost childish humor and made to make fun of the cringe behavior of those who have to pay their own bills. It is actually a very interesting story about family connections and discovering one’s roots and one’s personality.

The Italian series takes place in the 1990s and accompanies a young woman who tries to get closer to an aunt who is frowned upon by the rest of the family – the famous black sheep. And it is by understanding the reason for this separation that she understands more of her own story in a very personal journey that has everything to be one of the most interesting debuts of January.

5. Copenhagen Cowboy

Another title that doesn’t say much, Copenhagen Cowboy it has nothing of the western and much less of chocolate. The series is a Danish thriller that mixes science fiction elements with that good crime and revenge story that we love so much.

The plot is centered on a young woman who serves as a lucky charm for rich people – which makes her a kind of luxury slave. And behold, one day she discovers she has supernatural powers and leaves in search of revenge and freedom.

But what draws the most attention here besides this promise of a lot of people getting screwed is the very peculiar aesthetic. All publicity images and released trailers bring an almost dystopian Copenhagen, with a lot of neon and uncomfortably clean environments — which gives an extra charm to the blood filth that is to come.

Copenhagen Cowboy your debut first season on january 5th.

4. Vikings: Valhalla

Norse warriors are back. Vikings: Valhalla returns for its second season to expand on the tales of Freydis, Leif and Harald in their quest for power and conquest. It is proof that the franchise manages to remain interesting even leaving the legend of Ragnar and his descendants aside.

The name is not similar by chance: it is a revival of the classic That 70’s Show set two decades later, in the 1990s. That means we’ll re-encounter the entire gang from the classic sitcom that propelled Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Laura Prepon to stardom, and find out what happened to these characters so long after.

The series takes place in 1995 and centers on Leia Forman, the daughter of Prepon and Topher Grace’s characters, who is going to spend the holidays with her grandparents. 1. Every Day the Same Night

The last series on our list does not yet have a date to arrive on Netflix, but it deserves your attention because it is a story very close to us. Every Day the Same Night relives the Kiss nightclub tragedy that killed 242 young people in Santa Maria (RS) in 2013.

Based on a book by journalist Daniela Arbex, the series dramatizes the events leading up to the episode, in addition to showing the pain and struggle of survivors and their families for justice — a battle that lasts for a decade.
