The “A Better Routeplanner” app is used for planning and navigating trips with an electric car. The program plans charging stops on the planned route, taking into account the vehicle data and, in the case of the premium subscription, also on the basis of live traffic and weather data. If you are only interested in the field of e-mobility, you can even simulate one or the other journey with regard to charging stops, without the car’s navigation software.
A Better Routeplanner has one more feature. For charging networks with real-time data, an availability forecast of the charging station is given. This is also about a premium feature, who would like to be paid with 5 euros per month or 50 euros per year. In this way, at the time of the estimated arrival, you can predict how crowded the charging station will be. The map service Here is also planning similar functions, as announced at CES 2023.
A little tip on charging tariffs and the associated charging fees, as you often read about horrendous prices in social networks and on other platforms. I’ve been using recently Enel X Way (JuicePass ) an Italian app provider, there will be (if you fully exhaust the loading quota) just under 31 cents per kilowatt hour (45 euros for 145 kWh), even with fast charging (*partner link). Disadvantages: Depending on where you are traveling, the availability of the charging stations could be poor, but that’s fine here in the region. Any remaining credit expires at the end of the month. If you load more, it will be expensive. In addition, the app is not particularly well made and charges have to be ended via the provider’s app, otherwise the whole thing sometimes hangs – but it’s cheap.
So I use supplemental Elvah. There is a better app here but also a bit more expensive (*partner link). Then, at 50 to 55 cents per kWh, immediate assistance in the event of breakdowns and other mobility services are also included, depending on the package selected. The price for AC and DC charging is the same for all charging providers. In addition, any remaining credit will be taken into the new month, provided you have booked at least the S tariff.
