Minecraft offers gamers the ability to build virtually anything imaginable, and a fan of arcade games Doom he has set out to build a replica of the Fortress of Doom using the many blocks available in the sandbox game.

Fan-made crossover projects are nothing new to Minecraft, as fans of the game often take advantage of its endless possibilities to build replicas of characters, objects, and locations from some of their favorite games.

Introduced in Doom Eternal, the most recent installment in the legendary FPS franchise, the Fortress of Doom serves as the home of the Doom Slayer, as well as a pivotal center throughout the main campaign. As you’d expect from a Doom game, the Fortress is a castle-like battle station hanging in space, made mostly of rock and metal.

The sprawling fortress contains many chambers accessible with Sentry Batteries that can be obtained in game levels, with each chamber offering different rewards and items that can help players reach their full destructive potential. Some of these unlockable rooms offer certain cosmetic skins, such as the Classic Marine skin, which represents the armor Doomguy was wearing when the first Doom game was released in 1993.

With the Fortress of Doom offering the ideal layout and design for an impressive base of operations, it was only a matter of time before a Minecraft building expert got to work recreating this location in the sandbox game. A fan known as Blood_Reaper8 on reddit shared his project in a post on the site, including a screenshot of the work he’s done so far.

The accompanying image shows the blocky recreation of the Fortress of Doom control room, an area that features a holographic projection of Earth, as well as a magnificent view of the blue planet through a large window. The many facilities in the Fortress could make for an especially long project, especially if the creator intends to include the elevator that goes down to the demon prison known as the Ripatorium.
