One of the most popular multiplayer maps in the Call of Duty series, Shipment was originally released by accident.

Since her debut in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007, she has appeared in several other series parts.

All of a sudden it happened

Infinity Ward’s Multiplayer Design Director Geoff Smith gives in an interview Dexerto states that the map’s release was “really an accident”.

Shipment is one of the smallest Call of Duty maps, originally designed to be “a split-screen map back in the day” according to Smith.

During development, the map ended up in the “Playlist Script” and Infinity Ward used it for internal testing.

“When we went live, our MP leader at the time forgot to take them out again and there was no turning back. It really was an accident.”

Sometimes coincidence helps a little. The fans are certainly grateful that Shipment was not removed.
