The ARD says goodbye to a long-time series star: last week, “For Heaven’s sake” actress Karin Gregorek died at the age of 81. For half a century she was seen in various film and series roles. We look back at her big TV appearances.

Karin Gregorek: Your first feature film was never shown on the big screen
Shortly after completing her training at the State Drama School in Berlin-Niederschöneweise, Karin Gregorek landed her first film role in the women’s drama “Christine” in 1963. In 1974 she played the role of the successful doctor Ruth Polzin in the cinema drama “Leben mit Uwe”, with whom her brother Uwe (Eberhard Esche) compares himself. Award for “Best Supporting Actress”
Karin Gregorek received two awards for her role as head nurse Walburga.
Karin Gregorek slipped into the role of sister long before “Um Himmels Sasen”. In 1988 she acted in the DEFA feature film “One carries the other’s load…”. resolute head nurse Walburga and repeatedly put the two protagonists, played by Jörg Pose and Manfred Möck, in their place. In the 1990s, for example, she had the main role as Frau Verheugen in “Zappek”, the superior of the chief inspector who gave the film its title. A contrast to this was her appearance in the MDR sitcom “Mama ist Impossible”, where she nosy neighbor Gundula Wawczinek played.
“Polizeiruf 110” and “Tatort”: Karin Gregorek’s numerous guest roles
In addition to her major roles, Karin Gregorek had during her career numerous guest appearances in various productions. Around the turn of the millennium, she played Helga Bogner in several episodes of the popular family series “Tierarzt Dr. Engel”. With an appearance in the ARD hit “In aller Hoffnung” (In All Friendship), her filmography contains one another doctor series. In addition, she had smaller roles in various thrillers: In the seventies she played in “Polizeiruf 110”, later twice in “Tatort”.
