A helicopter crashed when he flew over the Campeche Sound of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex).

According to the first reports, the events occurred on the afternoon of December 22, but the parastatal kept total secrecy about this accident.

However, the Undersecretary of Transportation of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) revealed this Friday through an information card that the aircraft type Bell HT 412 White color, with registration XA-BNA, belongs to the company Aeroservicios Especializados SA de CV

The pilot of the aircraft and his co-pilot, identified with the licenses in the name of Francisco Javier Nájera Morales and Miguel Ángel López Hinojosa, respectively, were traveling back to land after supplying food to the Pemex platform called “Stabilized”.

Upon impact, the waters of the Gulf of Mexico swallowed the helicopter, so its crew members remain as missing. Pemex immediately activated its sea and air search and rescue protocol, but a cold front made work difficult.

At 11:45 p.m., a boat in charge of Major Felipe Castillo located the wreckage of the aircraft, but without locating the crew members, so they asked Petróleos Mexicanos to go to the area with divers to carry out search work. in deep water

But the information card of the SICT, the Pemex divers were going to show up until five in the morning this Friday, which reduces the possibility of finding the helicopter crew alive.

Since the failed landing occurred near the maritime terminal of Cayo Arcas, at an approximate distance of 174 kilometers from Isla del Carmen, for which reason vessels from contractor companies for Pemex and the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) near the area joined the the search that began at dawn this Friday.
