A woman was seriously injured after being bitten by a lioness that escaped from a house in Fraccionamiento Cumbres III, located northeast of the capital of Aguascalientes.

The two-year-old feline named “Salomé” escaped from a vacant lot where she was sheltered and attacked Lila IH, who was taken by emergency elements to a hospital.

The 40-year-old woman suffered head and lower extremity injuries after the attack, for which she was admitted to the Miguel Hidalgo Hospital.

In addition, “Salomé” would have killed two dogs and a cat that roam the area.

For these events, Geovany Javier “N”, 34, was arrested, who was identified as the owner of the lioness and who later accredited to the State Attorney for Environmental Protection (Proespa) the feline’s ownership.

Firefighters and Civil Protection elements managed to capture the specimen to later transfer it to the Rodolfo Landeros Park.

The man must answer to the authorities for the crime of malicious injury.

Meanwhile, medical reports at the moment handle Lila in critical condition.
