An adviser to the National Chamber of Senators was arrested transporting ecstasy and a large amount of money in Rosario, sources from the National Gendarmerie reported yesterday. The man was traveling with a missionary as a companion, who said he was an adviser to the Chamber of Deputies of Misiones, although this was later dismissed.

“The man who claims to be from Misiones is not an employee of Congress. He is a delinquent who takes a plate, ”a senior official of the force in Misiones told El Territorio yesterday, who had access to the details of the procedure. According to various national and Santa Fe media, the procedure occurred at a vehicle checkpoint located at the tollbooth in the town of General Lagos, 22 kilometers from Rosario.

There were arrested yesterday Hernán Diego G., adviser in the National Chamber of Senators, and his companion Alan Gabriel V. with 92 ecstasy pills with the Sprite logo. It was pointed out that the driver showed an identification card, but that his companion only identified herself as an employee of the Chamber of the province of Misiones, something that turned out to be a lie. At the time of the operation, as they indicated, they tried to bribe the federal agents.

Those involved were traveling in a Chevrolet Meriva and the investigation was carried out by federal prosecutor Javier Arzubi Calvo, head of the Rosario Prosecutor’s Office One, and Judge Carlos Vera Barros, in charge of Federal Court Three of the same city. As detailed, when the driver was interviewed by the gendarmes, Hernán Diego G. stated that he was an administrative staff member of the National Congress and later presented identification as an adviser to the National Senate.

However, as he lacked documentation to be able to circulate, the agents made the two occupants get out of the truck and proceeded to search the vehicle, where they found a bag with 92 bicolor ecstasy pills with the inscription of Sprite. The gendarmes also kidnapped 30,000 pesos and 3,000 dollars.

The Infobae site expanded – citing judicial sources – that at the time the drug was found the two occupants of the car explained that they were going from Buenos Aires to Rosario to attend an electronic party and offered the money they were carrying -30,000 pesos and 3,000 dollars- in exchange for not being detained.
