Today, a lady is at this time inside the IOMA building demanding that the social work cover a home hospitalization for her 12-year-old son.
The boy suffers from cerebral palsy, a developmental delay and a swallowing disorder. On November 13, due to his illnesses, he was admitted to intensive care for 11 days and to this day he remains in the Hospital waiting for the supplies to arrive at his home so that he can continue his hospitalization from there accompanied and supported by his family.
The woman denounces that the social work “has been around” for a while and has no answers. “We sent all the papers that we were asked for, the pediatricians at the hospital also sent all the pertinent paperwork but they still haven’t delivered the home hospitalization,” claimed the child’s mother.
She also said that today they called her from the Hospital because they need an oxygen converter and a respirator for her son: “the oxygen converter was authorized but it only came for the 23rd, yesterday I stayed until 3 in the afternoon to see that it could be do by calling back and forth”. He also expressed that: “this morning the company that took the concession for this service called me and informed me that tomorrow the oxygen converter with 4 tubes with half the supply would be arriving at my house and the other half would arrive on the 23rd. The only thing missing is the vacuum cleaner, which is vital to be able to take my son home.”
Regarding the last essential element, he explained “they told me that they are not going to get it for today or tomorrow, they don’t know if for these days either.”
“Then the home hospitalization, the nurse, everything that would be disposable, but good in terms of essentials, only the vacuum cleaner is missing,” explained the lady, who on the other hand maintained that until they give her solutions she will not move from the place. She was present at the place police personnel to control the situation.
