An agent who works in the Local Police (UPPL) shot a criminal in the Barrio Norte of La Plata. It was yesterday -around 6 in the morning- on Calle 2 between 33 and 34, when he resisted an attempted robbery.

The officer was on duty, dressed in civilian clothes, but moving aboard a Honda Wave motorcycle to an additional service of Horas Polad.

In the violent maneuver, according to the official report, the agent fell to the ground and it was at that moment that she identified herself as a member of the force.

The sources indicated that one of the thieves pointed a firearm at him, at which point, noticing an imminent risk to his physical integrity, he extracted the regulation pistol and made at least one detonation, which hit one of the attackers, 22 years old. , at waist level (left lumbar).

Badly injured and, lying on the pavement, he was abandoned by his accomplice, who fled the scene on the run.

According to the same spokespersons, for reasons of proximity to the emergency, the wounded man, handcuffed and in custody, was taken to the Rossi Hospital, where they had to undergo surgery.

Last night, in that care center, he remained under observation.

Meanwhile, the investigations managed to determine that he has several criminal records for crimes against property and against people.

Personnel from the second police station and the DDI La Plata are now working in the neighborhood to obtain images from the security cameras to try to identify the fugitive, who could be a minor.

In the event, the criminal prosecutor on duty, María Eugenia Di Lorenzo, intervened.

It was learned that the detainee has a domicile in the El Dique neighborhood, on 123 street between 36 and 37.

AN UNSAFE AREA

The North neighborhood of La Plata and adjacencies is crossed by a very large wave of insecurity. And he is not the only one in the City that registers a permanent onslaught of crime.

Historically affected by criminals who settle in the strip of 122 avenue, as it happens with Barrio Hipódromo, there are complaints for all kinds of events.

Last week, two criminals managed to break into a car parked at 35 between 15 and 16, from where they stole the help and a bag. All in broad daylight and with absolute impunity.

The maneuver was recorded by a home camera and it was striking that one of the thieves, with difficulties to move, appeared to be over 70 years old.

As if that were not enough, on January 27, at 38 between 12 and 13, three criminals entered the home of Esteban Rafael Morcillo and tied him up. The professional was accompanied by his 84-year-old mother and died of a heart attack after the thieves escaped.

As indicated, the 56-year-old notary managed to untie himself and punched one of the criminals. That’s when they all ran away.

From behind, shouting, Morcillo followed them running, but seeing that he could not catch up with them, he returned to his house. It was at that moment that he had a massive heart attack and lost his life.

The fact, which for now has no detainees, is being investigated by prosecutor Virgina Bravo, head of UFI No. 7, who ordered the corresponding autopsy to irrefutably determine the causes of death.
