Four members of a Santa Fe family died this Sunday in an accident registered on route 41, by which they were returning from their vacations on the Atlantic coast in the midst of the tourist turnover for the new fortnight of January.

It’s about a couple from Rosario who had been living in Casilda for several yearsboth died as well as their two small children due to the accident produced at kilometer 119, between General Belgrano and San Miguel del Monte (Buenos Aires province).

As reported by the Casildense newspaper Día 7, the family car, a Peugeot 408, would have been hit head-on by a larger vehiclea traffic Mercedes Benz Sprinter, in circumstances that are being investigated.

Several people who were traveling in the van suffered injuries and the driver was detained under the title of multiple culpable homicide.

Federico Benvenuto, a lawyer and professor at the Sagrada Familia de Casilda College, died from the crash; his wife Fiama Castiglioni (29), a catechism teacher at the Misericordia School in Casilda; a 6-year-old son of the couple and a 3-year-old daughter, who was taken in critical condition to a regional hospital but did not survive.

The news generated a deep pain in the city of southern Santa Feespecially in the educational communities of both schools where the couple worked.
