A new Russian missile attack against purely civilian targets in Ukraine destroyed a university and a theater in the northern city of Chernihiva few kilometers from kyiv.
The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelenskyon an official trip to Sweden, offered more information about the attack in a message posted on the social network Twitter.
Zelenski pointed out in his message, accompanied by a video showing the effects of the attack, that “a Russian missile hit the heart of Chernihiv» and assured that there are fatalities.
«A square, a university and a theater. Russia turned any given Saturday into a day of pain and loss. there are casualties», lamented the Ukrainian president.
Zelenski offered his “condolences to all those who have lost a loved one” and assured that “all services are working in the place: rescuers, police and doctors.”
In the message, he also asked for help “to the world to face the russian terrorism», and called for «providing Ukraine with additional tools to safeguard life».
In this sense, he assured that “for life to win, Russia must lose this war».
In the video released by Zelenski, the partially demolished theater building can be seen. The square to which it opens was left full of rubble, parked cars, blown up, some with corpses inside, and pedestrians passing by disoriented in the face of the disaster.
