It was a real drama that happened last night in the wilaya of Batna, more precisely in the commune of Bitam, daira of Barika. A serious road accident, which occurred at the level of the RN n ° 78 in the locality of Daya, made no less than eight (8) victims from the same family.
In a press release released yesterday evening, the Directorate of Civil Protection of the wilaya of Batna announced that a serious road accident had occurred following a violent collision between a trailer truck and a passenger vehicle.
Indeed, the same source indicated that the tragedy took place yesterday, Friday January 6, 2023, at 7:24 p.m., at the level of the national road (RN) n ° 78, in the locality of Daya, commune of Bitam in the wilaya of Batna.
Alas, this road accident generated a consequent assessment of human losses. The Civil Protection services counted no less than eight (8) deaths. The victims, members of the same family, were in the passenger vehicle. Moreover, the elements of the Civil Protection transferred the remains of the eight victims, who had passed away at the scene of the accident, and this, to the hospital of Barika (wilaya of Batna).
Serious accident in Batna: the driver of the truck arrested
According to information reported by the Arabic media Ennahar Onlinethe public prosecutor at the court of Barika, wilaya of Batna, published a press release concerning the accident which caused eight victims in the commune of Bitam.
According to the press release in question, the accident occurred following a collision between a car, which was coming from Biskra towards the commune of Bitam, and a trailer truck which was coming in the opposite direction. Following this tragic accident, eight people from the same family were killed, namely the driver of the car and his seven companions, said the same source.
In addition, the public prosecutor’s office at the Barika court instructed the continuation of the investigation to determine the exact circumstances behind this accident. In addition, the public prosecutor’s office ordered the arrest of the driver of the truck who will appear, after completion of the investigation, with the taking of strict legal measures to deal with the case.
