Jealously escorted by members of the Provincial Penitentiary Service (SPP), Alejandro Daniel Kirschner (24), arrived very early yesterday morning at the Eldorado Criminal Court One building to answer as the only defendant for the shooting murder of his parents Hilario Kirschner ( 61) and Mirta Sachser (54).

The oral and public debate that foresees at least five days finally began almost two years after the Examining Court Three of Puerto Iguazú, which intervened in the investigation, concluded the investigation and pointed out the young man as the main suspect in the double parricide. .

And far from preferring silence to evade the heavy accusation that falls on his shoulders, the accused testified for more than three hours in court, when he gave his version of the facts and where he also answered questions from the prosecution.

After noon, after the debate began minutes after 9 o’clock and after the extensive reading of the trial proceedings, the defendant sat down in front of the judges and told his version.

With a leisurely account and a calm face, Alejandro Daniel narrated that on Saturday, September 21, 2019, after having been absent for a large part of the day from the house that he shared with his parents in Lot 62, section C, he returned to the residence near at midnight and upon entering the house he ran into the bodies of his relatives. He even remarked that when he saw each one in different sectors of the house, he only managed to take their pulse. And seeing that they were dead, he went out for help.

Then, he added that he went to the house of some relatives who live a few meters from his farm and that he asked for help, denying any type of responsibility in the double crime. He also clarified that an injury he had was the result of an attack by one of his dogs, whom he would have run over that same day with the truck.

In another section of his statement, when asked what he was like with his parents, the defendant said that he was always a good person with his guardians. He presented himself before the court as a good person, who helped his parents, who was always there for them and who worked on the farm.

He also maintained that there were no major discussions with his father, beyond some episode that could be generated when his father drank alcohol.

On the other hand, the defendant admitted to the room his addiction to drugs and that he had problems with this issue.

First and only witness

The extensive statement made by the accused meant that of the two witnesses who were summoned to testify yesterday, only one of them was finally able to give his contribution to the debate.

The person who could testify was Alejandro Fabián Baier, who lives with his family on the farm next to the Kirschner house. Even his wife is a niece of the murdered couple and therefore the link with the victims and the accused was more than direct.

The witness recalled that the accused’s father was very concerned about his son’s drug addiction and that is why at a family meeting he told him in front of his relatives that if he ever found out that Hilario had sold the farm, he would he had not been the one who had signed that agreement. Or that he sells the truck for this matter.

He also said that due to a picture of epilepsy that the defendant has suffered for years, the farmer did not want to lend his truck to the young man, since he was afraid that something could happen to him.

The debate is scheduled to end next Thursday the 23rd.

In turn, he narrated that father and son had constant friction over the issue of money and that apparently the young man used to sell his belongings in exchange for money.

On the other hand, when asked if he knew of a missing rifle that the deceased had inherited and which had disappeared from his property when he returned from a vacation, he denied being aware of an alleged sale of the weapon by the defendant.

However, he did acknowledge that he knew of this conflict between his neighbors from the statements of Hilario himself.

After listening to Baier, the court made up of judges Atilio León -president-, Liliana Komizarski and Oscar Fava Gallardo ordered a fourth intermission until today at 8:30 a.m., when the day of testimonials is scheduled to begin with the pending contribution of Héctor Kirschner .

The debate is scheduled for another four days and if the times so provide, next Thursday the 23rd the verdict of the magistrates will be known.

Prior to this, 27 witnesses will parade, including relatives, friends and relatives of the Kirschners as well as neighbors, medical professions and police officers who intervened in the investigation.

The young man is accused of double homicide aggravated by the relationship and by the use of a firearm, in a real contest with the possession of a firearm for civilian use, without due legal authorization, an accusation that provides for a life sentence in case of be found responsible in a future oral debate.
