Climate activists of the “last generation” poured concrete on the roadway of the Mühlendamm Bridge in Berlin-Mitte on Wednesday morning. This is according to a statement from the group.

As the traffic information center (VIZ) Berlin announced on Twitter, the Mühlendamm is blocked at the height of the Fischerinsel. From Leipziger Straße and Grunerstraße there are traffic jams of 15 to 20 minutes each. The police are already on site, it said against. 8.40 a.m.

The protest is therefore directed against “the misguided transport policy of the German federal government”. While some activists sat on the street in safety vests and taped, other people poured concrete onto the road. At the same time, the lane was blocked by a van with a woman glued to the roof, it said

“Our FDP ministers Lindner and Wissing rely on more freeways to reduce CO2. We don’t believe in that. Today we use concrete really sensibly and thus interrupt the deadly everyday life!”, An activist is quoted in the message.

According to the “Last Generation”, traffic blockades were also carried out in other cities on Wednesday.
