The two suspects in the investigation for the robbery of an employee of the Shell service station in Montecarlo, which occurred last Tuesday, January 3, in the downtown area of the aforementioned town and where the thieves escaped with about five million pesos. After shooting their victim, they appeared yesterday at their respective investigative hearings before the Justice.
These are the brothers Ricardo and Jonathan A., 33 and 44 years old, who were caught hours after the robbery in the Martín Fierro neighborhood of Montecarlo. Both were taken yesterday morning to the building of the Investigating Court One of Puerto Rico where, after the formal appointment of their defense attorneys, they chose not to testify before Judge Manuel Balanda Gómez, in charge of the investigation.
As a result of this, the suspects were accused of the robbery and shooting of the affected employee: Mario Rubén C. (38), who on the day of the event received a bullet wound to the sole of his foot, although fortunately it did not result seriousness of said impact.
According to the data provided by spokespersons consulted by this newspaper, it is expected that next week the investigation will add more elements of weight to the file.

One of them has to do with the witness statement of the shot worker. And the other, which will take place the same day in court, is a line-up in which the two detainees will be present and where the victim could identify his possible attackers based on physical characteristics.

Another aspect in which considerable progress was made in the case has to do with the compilation of images from different security cameras in the area where the assault took place.
During the last days, the investigations accessed different films where it was possible to confirm that the clothing that was seized from the two detainees are the same clothes that the criminals were wearing at the time of the robbery.
It is worth mentioning that these clothes gave positive results to the paraffin tests that at the time were carried out by experts from the Misiones Police.
The study also confirmed that traces of gunpowder were detected in a modified air pistol adapted to fire 22-caliber shots that the suspects also had. Precisely the positive paraffin in clothing and in the firearm were compromising for the detainees who are waiting in a police unit of the IV Regional Unit for the progress of their future proceedings.
On the other hand, the investigators do not rule out the participation of at least one more accomplice.
This if one takes into account that the money was not recovered by the Police and because those who carried out the robbery knew very well the movements of the attacked employee.
