Former US President Donald Trump just had to answer for himself before the New York court. The indictment was read to him there. Trump pleaded innocent on all counts. Immediately afterwards, he attracted attention with his extreme taciturnity, and he only regained consciousness in his home base Mar-a-Lago in Florida. At least that’s what it seemed.
Now the first shock is probably over. And the ex-president draws attention to himself again in his usual blustering manner. Because now he wants them too justice make an effort. He is suing his former attorney, Michael Cohen.

Cohen was considered Trump’s man for the rough
Cohen is the key witness in Trump’s indictment, among other things, because of the hush money payments to ex-porn starter Stormy Daniels. Trump’s former attorney had previously admitted to having paid the hush money to Daniels. This was to prevent her from speaking about the alleged affair with Trump during the 2016 election campaign.
Cohen was considered Trump’s man for the rough. He was a central figure in the Trump cosmos – until the two parted ways. Trump’s former lawyer has already been sentenced to three years in prison for the hush money payments, but was allowed to serve part of the time under house arrest due to the pandemic.
Donald Trump’s lawyers are dragging Michael Cohen through the mud
Trump’s lawyers have repeatedly questioned Cohen’s credibility. They argue he has already been convicted of cheating and lying. If the ex-president goes to trial, it is to be expected that his defense attorneys will try to paint Cohen as a witness who cannot be trusted and who only wants revenge.
In the civil lawsuit that Trump is said to have filed in Florida on Wednesday, according to media reports, former President Cohen accuses him of breaching his legal duties towards him. Among other things, Cohen did not comply with the non-disclosure agreement with Trump by passing on confidential information and spreading untruths.
Trump accuses his former lawyer of malicious intent and self-interest. He is demanding $500 million from Cohen in compensation.
