Despite the not necessarily very positive evolution of the Activision Blizzard takeover file by Microsoft, the company seems quite calm.

The takeover of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is a real suspense series. Especially since we know that big companies like Google and Nvidia are against this acquisition and that the European Union is also very reluctant on the subject. But yet, despite several lawsuits filed and ongoing investigations, the Tech giant, father of Xbox, seems confident to be on time.

Microsoft still has the same goal for Activision Blizzard

While UK regulator CMA launched an in-depth investigation into the deal, followed by an antitrust lawsuit by the US Federal Trade Commission, Microsoft still intends to finalize the deal and expresses elsewhere his confidence that everything will be concluded this year. Against this backdrop, during Microsoft’s latest earnings call with investors, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood addressed the issue when discussing the outlook for the third quarter of 2023.

Now let’s move on to our outlook for the third quarter, which, unless otherwise noted, is based on the US dollar. My commentary for the full year and next quarter does not include any impact on Activision, which we continue to “work” to close fiscal 2023, subject to obtaining the required regulatory approvals.

If all goes well, on June 30, 2023 everything should be settled. It’s all the same amusing that despite the storm, Microsoft is so confident in the success of its plan to acquire Activision Blizzard.

What do you think of Microsoft’s statements and do you think, for your part, that the conclusion of this whole story is positive for the company?
