On the occasion of the new edition of the Game Developers Conferencea new poll has been held in which developers have expressed their opinions on current trends in the gaming market and the news that have shaken it over the past year.
First, it seems that many developers have no real interest in some of the topics that have caused so much discussion over the last few years, such as the metaversethe blockchain they NFTs.
Of the 2,300 respondents to the survey, the 75% answered negatively when asked if their studio was interested in blockchain technology. When asked how their opinion of Web3 had changed since last year, the 56% said they are not interested then and still not today. When asked to rank which companies are most likely to create a true metaverse, the 14% responded with Epic Gamestwice as long as Meta and Minecraft. Over 50% of respondents also support unionisationwith over 20% saying they have participated in discussions about the world of work in the games industry.
