Until the cinema release of Captain America: New World Order at the May 1, 2024 it’s still a while away, but Marvel fans can already look forward to that MCU debut look forward to a real legend. Actor Harrison Ford will officially join the cast of Captain America 4. Kevin Feige (Head of Marvel Studios) has now confirmed this – after the last year rumours around the actor of Han Solo, Indiana Jones and co.
Important role for Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford will not play a completely new MCU character. He slips into the role of General Thaddeus “thunderbolt” Horse. embodied in several films William Hurt once the MCU General. In 2022, the actor sadly passed away at the age of 71. However, because the Marvel character is coming Thunderbolts Movie – as the name suggests – will have an important role, Marvel Studios had to find a replacement. Thunderbolts starts in July 2024 – right after Captain America: New World Order.
Harrison Ford becomes US President
In an interview with EW Kevin Feige has now revealed details about Thaddeus Ross in Captain America 4. Once again Harrison Ford – after Air Force One – namely one US Presidents play in the cinema:
“It’s a really big role for Thaddeus Ross. He’s the President of the United States in the movie. And with Harrison […] there is a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a story, but in this film we see a dynamic with Captain America […]which is just amazing.”, said Kevin Feige in an interview.
In the MCU, Captain America’s shield is now wearing Sam Wilson – played by Anthony Mackie. The Thunderbolts are one anti-hero group, led by Valentina Allegra de Fonatine. It consists of well-known MCU characters – including Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Taskmaster, Ghost and John Walker. Starting today, Marvel fans can also find out about Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania look forward to in the cinemas.
