With a turnover of over $2.2 billion heard at the box office Avatar: The Way of Water one of the most successful films of all time. It’s hard to imagine that there are actors who wouldn’t have liked to have landed a role in the sequel. In the case of Marc Marron but that seems to have happened. The comedian was at the casting and apparently wasn’t entirely thrilled with what he saw there. In an interview with Josh Horowitz Marc Maron talked about the time.

“That was ridiculous. Why the f*** would I want to be in that? There’s this assumption that we’re going to do four Avatar movies. Dude, I don’t even remember the first one. I don’t know what that was for means the world. [James Cameron] has this city [in seinem Studio] built. There are people doing acrobatics. people flying through the air… it’s like Cirque du Soleil”, said Marc Maron in an interview.
“All of a sudden you’re in this area with people just reading lines and flying around and on Dolly-[Kameras] sit around I was on camera I think. I should imagine a boat or whatever that should be. I’m in the middle of this, completely disengaged and lacking a sense of my character. […] Thank god I didn’t get the part. I don’t like being away from home. My agent told me, ‘You’re probably going to go to New Zealand for four years.'”
