Mexico City.- The Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, attacked this Tuesday against the polls that place him in third place of preferences to obtain the presidential candidacy of Morena.

The candidate for 2024 considered that these types of exercises are “contentillo surveys”, which only serve to “maintain the self-esteem” of those who pay for them.

Interviewed in Mérida, during a work tour, the man from Tabasco gave as an example the polls that were carried out in 2018, prior to the definition of the candidate for the head of government of Mexico City.

The head of Segob maintained that the “contentillo polls” placed Senator Ricardo Monreal as a favorite, although he ended up losing in the Morena poll, which was won by the head of Government of the Capital, Claudia Sheinbaum.

“Those are called contentillo polls, I’m going to give an example: six years ago there was a poll process to select who should be the candidate for head of government for Morena, all the polls that were published said that he won widely to Ricardo Monreal.

“Well, it turns out that Ricardo Monreal did not win, that Ricardo Monreal took fourth place and the one who was in third place, Claudia Sheinbaum, won. Well, the same thing happens, there are mood surveys that are called and published to maintain the self-esteem of the that they put up,” he said.

Although he did not reveal names, Adán Augusto López warned that this type of survey implies a financial cost for those who hire them.

However, he trusted that he will be able to win the polls that will be applied by the internal organs of Morena to define the presidential candidacy for the 2024 election.

Some polling houses that place it in third place, will time catch up with it?, he was asked.

“Well, those are happy surveys, the day you want I’ll tell you who finances Enkoll and all those () but that costs. I’m going to win the survey,” he replied.

The Secretary of the Interior held several work meetings on Tuesday in the city of Mérida.

In the afternoon, he led a meeting with representatives of civil society and businessmen, in which he announced that the Ministry of Finance helped the Government of Yucatán to obtain the qualification to obtain a loan for more than 3 billion pesos, for the expansion from the Port of Altura de Progreso.

He explained that it is a financially viable plan, since the loan will be paid in 10 years, but the recovery of the investment will take only six years.

He trusted that the governor of Yucatan, Mauricio Vila (PAN), has the support of the local Congress to contract the debt and thus carry out the project, which will allow the arrival of larger ships.
