Adams authorities urge the public to respect warning signs and avoid closed roads

ADAMS COUNTY, Colorado – Recent persistent rains have wreaked havoc in Adams County this spring and summer season. And it is that the water has caused flooding, erosion and the formation of potholes on the roads.

That is why the Department of Public Works is in constant surveillance of the road network and has taken the measure of closing those roads where dangerous conditions are evident due to accumulated water.

However, unfortunately, in the last week there have been two incidents in which vehicles have fallen into potholes while trying to drive on closed roads.

For this reason, the county authorities urgently call on the community to respect the warning signs and avoid any attempt to drive on closed roads. These conditions represent an extreme risk to the life and safety of all.

Should you encounter any hazardous conditions or witness a flood situation, it is strongly requested that you immediately contact the Adams County Department of Emergency Communications at 303.288.1535.

Remember that in emergency situations, it is essential to call the emergency number 911 to obtain the appropriate assistance.
