CDMX.- The Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, was the one who instructed the legislators to “cut up” the INE, accused the president of the electoral body, Lorenzo Córdova.

Electoral advisers warned that they are not exaggerating when they say that, with the electoral reform, the 2024 elections are at risk.

“We are going to fight all the decisions that in these regulations call into question and practically dismantle, dismember (…). Today we know, from testimonies that were present, that this was the word used by the head of internal policy when he went to to lobby in the Senate so that his legislators of his party would vote in favor of this reform.

“‘Dismember the INE’ it was said, and they did, ‘or highlight the INE’, for that matter it is the same. So we are going to defend the Electoral Service that is dismembering the reform,” Córdova pointed out.

Electoral advisors announced that next week they will present the first constitutional dispute against the Social Communication Law and the Responsibilities Law, which are already published, in addition to presenting resources as “amicus curiae” in all the controversies that have been presented by other political actors.

After President Andrés Manuel López Obrador affirmed that the elections would be at risk but through the INE, the councilors demanded that he demonstrate, with evidence, not with speeches, that in recent years there have been frauds.

“These are not serious accusations, they are serious, but they suffer from the minimum seriousness, it has been repeated that the INE allows fraud, stuffing ballot boxes, I want to see an example of a stuffed ballot box at the time of the INE, of a falsified record.

“That has not happened in this country for more than a quarter of a century, and whoever affirms that the INE commits fraud as before with Manuel Bartlett at the head of the Electoral Commission, who participates in altering results, is lying, and his affirmations lack seriousness regardless of the position they occupy,” he said.

He assured that although they want the INE dead, they will not achieve it, although, he regretted, they intend to mutilate it.

At a press conference, the councilors agreed that the 2024 elections are at risk because they could be held with a collapsed, mutilated, and limited INE.

“The elections will be held,” said counselor Rivera, “but the risk is that not all the polling stations will be installed in the conditions in which they put us.”

They affirmed that the door to the nullity of the election is open as never before.

Córdova indicated that in all their appeals they will request that the application of the laws be suspended while the merits of the matter are entered.

He trusted that they would not reach June 2 without a decision from the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, who, he assured, now more than ever must speed it up and guarantee that the Constitution is complied with.
