The Taliban government in Afghanistan it continues to restrict the rights of women in the country, despite the fact that multiple international organizations show their repudiation and demand changes.

This time, according to Tolonews, the authorities sent a letter to all the institutes, including private ones, and signed by the Ministry of Education in which it said that Afghan women are prohibited from taking entrance exams. It was also made clear that the measure will remain in force “until further notice.”

During the month of December, that same ministry established that no woman can enter the classes and, furthermore, NGOs were also prohibited from taking on female staff.

In addition, on January 8, the UN released a statement in which it was made clear that the bans are “discriminatory measures against women by the Taliban.”
