After almost 10 years of development, Ad Infinitum will arrive in September 2023

8 years ago, it was revealed Ad Infinitum, a game that explores the psychological horrors of the Great War in terrifying ways. Finally, it will be released on September 14 for PC and consoles, after a delay from its initial date in April of this year.

The player will embody a German soldier traumatized by the horrors of World War Ifacing the memories of his family apparently deceased in the conflict, and the experiences lived in the trenches during combat.

In Ad Infinitum, the game opens with the protagonist in his room after the war, but is suddenly transported to the battlefield. There, you will face terrifying creatures. The gameplay is similar to Layers of Fear and Outlast, where the enemy must be avoided, since we have no way to defend ourselves.

The game is for pre-order with a price of $8,188.43 on PC ($9,098.25 without discount) and $20,054.19 on PS5. Pre-purchase for the Xbox version has not yet been released. And those who pre-order the game will unfortunately not receive rewards, common in other titles.

In May 2015, Ad Infinitum was presented, highlighting the use of the powerful graphics engine Unreal Engine 4, which was just over a year old at the time. The first exhibition available at this linkshowed much of the current concept of the game.

German studio Hekate hasn’t revealed if Ad Infinitum switched to Unreal Engine 5, but the developers claim to offer cutting-edge graphics.
