Jürgen Drews retires and celebrates his farewell. On this occasion he hands over the title “King of Mallorca” to his friend Mickie Krause.

Jürgen Drews (77) resigns as “King of Mallorca” and leaves a big gap in the hit scene. His farewell TV show “The Great Schlager Farewell” will be shown on January 14 at 8:15 p.m. on the first. In 1995 he made his breakthrough with “Ein Bett im Kornfeld” and he got many appearances at Ballermann. For years, the party island of Mallorca was almost like a second home for the 77-year-old – in 2011 he even opened his own bistro called “King of Mallorca”. But now the Schlager king is retiring and giving up the title “King of Mallorca”.

In an interview with spot on news, the previous “King of Mallorca” reveals who is to succeed him: “I think I will always be the “King of Mallorca”, at least in my heart. If there were to be a successor at all, it would definitely be for me, my friend Mickie Krause. “Entertainer Mickie Krause (52) has been an integral part of the hit scene since his song “Ten Naked Hairdressers” in 1999. The two singers share a deep friendship.

Mickie Krause cannot accept the title

The 52-year-old is visibly touched by Jürgen Drew’s words and writes to his friend on his Instagram page: “You weren’t just a fellow musician, you became a friend! Thank you Jürgen for a great time that I will never forget”. But he cannot accept the honor of being called “King of Mallorca” by Jürgen Drews: “You are and will remain the king of Mallorca, and together we are the kings of hearts!” An emotional farewell message to Jürgen Drews.
