The protection agent has stopped solo work on the commuter trainsand MTR will try to staff up as much as possible if the protective stop goes through.

Niklas Ekström, the MTR commuter train’s communications manager, says that travelers should be aware that there may be some canceled trips on Monday. But he says at the same time that the train attendants who previously worked on the trains are still at the company, and are prepared to start working again.

– Many train attendants have moved into other roles in the company and no one has been dismissed. We have a plan for how these will strengthen in the event of a possible protective stop, says Niklas Ekström.

Is it appropriate to bring back the train attendants permanently?

– It is up to the Stockholm Region, says Niklas Ekström, MTR Commuter Train’s communications manager.
